The
6th Annual Bryan Mudryk Golf Classic in Boyle, Alberta was
the most successful yet. A record $75,000 was raised for the Cross
Cancer Institute in Edmonton. A major thank you to the Skeleton Lake
Golf Club, all of our sponsors, golfers and volunteers who helped make
the event so remarkable. This year we had a great celebrity turnout,
including fellow TSN host and Athabasca native Jay Onrait, The Score’s
Glenn Schiiler, CTV’s Erin Isfeld, Joel Gotlib, Kim Taylor, Rob
Williams, Sonia Sunger, and Team 1260 Sports Director Bryn Griffiths.
MLA Jeff Johnson also took time out of his busy schedule to enjoy
a beautiful day of golf.
This
year, the tournament also launched a special scholarship for those who
are fighting cancer while continuing their post-secondary education. In
conjunction with the Cross Cancer Institute, every year one student will
receive a scholarship towards their education as they undergo treatments
at the hospital. Not only are you helping raise crucial funds for a
world class facility, you are also helping a young man or woman fulfill
their dreams of a better education and future. When I was battling
cancer, I was also taking Radio and Television Arts at NAIT. I know
first hand how tough it can be, and am very proud of this
scholarship.
The
7th Annual Bryan Mudryk Golf Classic promises to be even more
successful. Please mark Saturday, June 20th 2009 on your calendar
and join us once again. Tickets are now on sale. Please call
780-689-6736 or email bryan@bryanmudrykgolfclassic.com
for more information. Thank you for your continued support and see you
in June!
